I was unable to attend for the flu jab as I was on holiday. However I was able to get an appointment with the nurse on the same day I telephoned. Always great care is taken with me and I can always see a doctor if necessary. Last year I broke my shoulder and was able to see an emergency doctor almost immediately.

Generally straight forward to obtain an appointment on the day or speak to a GP.
Staff all helpful and enthusiastic.

Since the new booking system has been introduced I feel the whole "going to the doctors" experience has enhanced and you are guaranteed to speak to a doctor within a short period of time, then you are given the appropriate advice, either seeing a doctor or nurse on the SAME DAY! All doctors should be the same!

I find it very easy to make an appointment with a Doctor on line.
Return calls from the Doctor are always prompt. The issues can be discussed freely and fully. No feeling of any time constraints for the consultation.
Booking appointments for clinics or other services is straight forward, using the online service via the Doctor or via the practice receptionist.
Being able to order/reorder prescriptions on line is very straight forward and the Pharmacy prompt in responding to requests.

Having been a patient at Galletly Practice for 12 years, I was sceptical about the change to the appointments system when introduced. However, I now find the system very effective. The Doctors or Nurses phone you back to discuss symptoms, and make same day appointments when needed. If an appointment is with a nurse, and they feel it is necessary for a Doctors intervention, that happens whilst you are there.
With the increasing number of people living in the Bourne area, change was necessary to deal with extra patients, and this change appears to be very effective. There can be delays before the phones are answered, but this is not surprising, given the demands on the practice.
Bourne Galletly Practice Team was awarded the iWantGreatCare certificate of excellence in 2024 for delivering outstanding care.
